FYI – stupid stuff everything be gone soon

Even though I currently had to handly my dissertation for today and I still found time to prepare some stuff. I need to take some serious decisions on future, work and how much time I have to go on with Grieved-Lightness, boards and other online activities. I’m not sure how this will end but I know that I don’t want to leave empty dead stuff on the Internet and let people wait for me.

Fi(r)st in 2010

2010 already has started and it just feels like things won’t run well this year.

  1. I started with some kind of  business presentation to promote myself but I don’t have time for that. As Carol told us before: School kind of hates us; at least since I have to write on a short dissertation :_;
  2. I had some small spark of hope left for the upcomming US/EU release of Final Fantasy XIII but currently I think this game will just suck… at least for people who played FF before and do not think that Final Fantasy VII is the best part of the series ever.
  3. Some great announcement for upcoming games this year and I guess most of them will be deferred (such as Golden Sun DS, Legend of Zelda).
  4. Great: Finally I’ll get Chrono Trigger DS – Worst: I’ll not get Bioshock2 and I don’t have money for Shattered Memories…
  5. Because of 1. I have to manage two twitter accounts and two web blogs (+design) as well as my Behence portfolio and client works.
  6. Still a lot games (from 2009) to play/ finish but no time for that

Pre-Christmas gifts to me

I’m certainly one of those people who are not interested in Christmas at all but this year the Christmas spirit seriously got me >,> Even though the weather is pretty useless to become more calm and romantic I try to keep my mood. Still two weeks left until Christmas but because I had a busy time recently and I still have I gave myself a pre-Christmas pleasure when buying some adorable items at Shiriki’s online store kyaaa.biz. I received my order today I’m so happy with my order. And that’s what I got:

Akira Yamaoka leaving Konami?

That’s what I got to know by checking out Original Sound Version recently:

While rumors have been going around all day regarding Silent Hill series composer and producer Akira Yamaoka leaving Konami, OSV has received official confirmation from Yamaoka himself. This is huge news for the gaming industry, as Yamaoka has been one of the biggest critics of the Japanese gaming industry. It will be interesting to see what he does if he decides to work freelance in the gaming industry.

Watch in the coming days for an extensive interview with Yamaoka on this move and his future plans. Will he continue working on Silent Hill? Will he be working on a solo album? Will be focus on music or game production? We’re just as anxious as you are to know more!

Are you surprised by this announcement? Do you think Yamaoka is going to focus on music or production moving forward? (Source: OSV, AP)

What a shock. I wonder what will happen to Silent Hill from now on. I’m looking forward to other great projects by Yamaoka but to tell the truth I don’t want another iFUTURELIST.

[gydtr] Secret of Mana ORIGINAL SOUND VERSION

It’s sometimes pretty difficult to find accurate information on game music. For this reason I now start with an old but beautiful and well composed piece: Secret of Mana ORIGINAL SOUND VERSION (not soundtrack). For those who don’t know: Secret of Mana in known in Japan as simply Seiken Densetsu 2 and was once released for SNES. Secret of Mana is the most popular part of the Seiken Densetsu series and has been re-released as a mobile game in 2009.

[gydtr] get your damn tags right

I’m in love with Asian music, especially music from Japan and Korea. If you feel the same way and you’re possibly a user at Last.fm you may be bothered by wrong tags, too.
Since I call myself as some kind of artist I know that (song)titles are important to express your intentions and feelings. Therefore I think it’s important to tag track titles, album titles and artist right.

For this reason I’ll start to share these information as accurately as possible by looking into official sources like websites, magazines and especially booklets. You may think this is overdone but for me it’s really annoying >,>

That’s it for today. By the way Grieved-Lightness is online again and I reached some points from the previous posted to-do list:

Symphonic Fantasies (2)

I guess I have to catch up some recent happenings and announcements since my last entry was written two month ago. At first I would like to continue the last entries topic: Symphonic Fantasies. This event took place on Sep 24, 2009 and were an symphonic concert to celebrate music from Square Enix. The concert was splitted into four parts: Kingdom Hearts, Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 2), Chrono Trigger/Cross and Final Fantasy. The concert was simply amazing and beyond that the audience was able to meet Yoko Shimomura, Yasunori Mitsuda, Hiroki Kikuta and Nobuo Uematsu, who were sitting amongst the audience to enjoy the concert. It was such a great experience and just remembering it makes me squirrelly ;) Give me some time and I’ll add a review and detailed list about the setlist.

By the way: I asked at WDR, host of Symphonic Fantasies, for an upcoming CD/ DVD release and they told me a CD is set to be released in December. A DVD edition is about to be released in January. Next entry will be about the upcoming concert in September 2010 called “Symphonic Legends“.
I guess from now it’s worth visiting German for at least one day a year :D
