That’s what I got to know by checking out Original Sound Version recently:

While rumors have been going around all day regarding Silent Hill series composer and producer Akira Yamaoka leaving Konami, OSV has received official confirmation from Yamaoka himself. This is huge news for the gaming industry, as Yamaoka has been one of the biggest critics of the Japanese gaming industry. It will be interesting to see what he does if he decides to work freelance in the gaming industry.

Watch in the coming days for an extensive interview with Yamaoka on this move and his future plans. Will he continue working on Silent Hill? Will he be working on a solo album? Will be focus on music or game production? We’re just as anxious as you are to know more!

Are you surprised by this announcement? Do you think Yamaoka is going to focus on music or production moving forward? (Source: OSV, AP)

What a shock. I wonder what will happen to Silent Hill from now on. I’m looking forward to other great projects by Yamaoka but to tell the truth I don’t want another iFUTURELIST.

It’s sometimes pretty difficult to find accurate information on game music. For this reason I now start with an old but beautiful and well composed piece: Secret of Mana ORIGINAL SOUND VERSION (not soundtrack). Secret of Mana is the most popular part of the Seiken Densetsu series and has been re-released as a mobile game in 2009.

I’m in love with Asian music, especially music from Japan and Korea. If you feel the same way and you’re possibly a user at Last.fm you may be bothered by wrong tags, too.
Since I call myself as some kind of artist I know that (song)titles are important to express your intentions and feelings. Therefore I think it’s important to tag track titles, album titles and artist right.

For this reason I’ll start to share these information as accurately as possible by looking into official sources like websites, magazines and especially booklets. You may think this is overdone but for me it’s really annoying >,>

That’s it for today. By the way Grieved-Lightness is online again and I reached some points from the previous posted to-do list:

I guess I have to catch up some recent happenings and announcements since my last entry was written two month ago. At first I would like to continue the last entries topic: Symphonic Fantasies. This event took place on Sep 24, 2009 and were an symphonic concert to celebrate music from Square Enix. The concert was splitted into four parts: Kingdom Hearts, Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 2), Chrono Trigger/Cross and Final Fantasy. The concert was simply amazing and beyond that the audience was able to meet Yoko Shimomura, Yasunori Mitsuda, Hiroki Kikuta and Nobuo Uematsu, who were sitting amongst the audience to enjoy the concert. It was such a great experience and just remembering it makes me squirrelly Give me some time and I’ll add a review and detailed list about the setlist.

By the way: I asked at WDR, host of Symphonic Fantasies, for an upcoming CD/ DVD release and they told me a CD is set to be released in December. A DVD edition is about to be released in January. Next entry will be about the upcoming concert in September 2010 called “Symphonic Legends“.
I guess from now it’s worth visiting German for at least one day a year

Now that the official theme song for Evangelion 2.0 has been released there seems to be need for further discussion.

This is what I think about it:
I think it’s pretty amazing that there wasn’t any copy available on the internet before the release two days ago. No title officially announced and no information at all. But because of this particular reason people seem to be even more disappointed to get “just” a remix.

I don’t like people to appraise this song as an ordinary single, because it’s a THEME SONG! It’s a remix, it’s for Evangelion and it’s very well done.
Evangelion always had one opening theme in many variations and this fact represents one important topic in the anime series: showing differences (feelings, impressions, …) in human mind and changes as well!

In this case isn’t a remix most suitable? Because a remix isn’t just a warm-up of older stuff, but an (re)inter•pre•tation!
Btw: The Rebuild of Evangelion movies are meant to show a certain climax. Doesn’t this remix contents a different mood than the originl song?

Finally there is nothing more to say as that this mixed theme song is well done and suits good to the second Rebuild of Evangelion movie. Especially because in my opinion a guitar goes with Asuka, who has a main role in this movie. Maybe I got this idea because of ASUKA STRIKES!

I decided on getting a new haircut since hair has started to block my view this much. I gave my best to get that damn parting away I once had, but now it seems to come back since my hair became longer. Last month, when I had my latest hair-do, my hair became this short I needed to acclimatize it. But also I don’t really like it this way I’m willing to let it become more shorter as last time.
I’m afraid of having a bird-like head afterwards and therefore I’m always taking a picture of what I want to get to the hairdresser. Because I like fuzzy-heads I decided on Ai Otsukas short hair, but I’m still not sure about the variation. I need some advice!!!

Writing this means to feel sad, depressed and drained.
Yesterday I started to create a design for Final Fantasy community I was a member of for over six years. This community is still online, but inactive since one or two years. It makes me sad, because I had so much fun with it and now everything is gone and became sleazy, because of the unactive members and ignorant admins. Maybe I feel this way, because I know each other well and can’t understand their attitude. I belong to a sort people who can’t to let go and worked on things until the very end, but there is no need if you are the only one who cares I think…

I’m not quite sure why I try so hard with this layout, because there is no need for it and I think I spend too much time with it (and effort) to share it on Grieved-Lightness.
I think I’m attached to it, because I always wanted to create a design for this website, but I was never allowed to. When I got my chance I failed – I always fail when I need to work on something I like. I always take care in creating web designs no matter if they’re ordered by a friend or a person I don’t know, but when I have to do something for myself I always fail. It’s the same with ordinary drawings. It’s like I have a blockade in my head and I have no idea what to do.

Oh dear, this sounds really depressed. Maybe it’s because of the Anime I’m recently watching. Mushi-shi makes me feel calm and contemplative. Maybe it’s because of the music that makes me feel home.

Here are two of my favorite songs from the Mushi-shi soundtrack I uploaded. It’s not that I wanted to share them to everyone. It’s just a sort of core or medium to show you what I mean.

1.「海境（うなさか）より」 umi sakai (unasaka) yori
2.深淵 shinen (fixed)

Btw: the soundtrack reminds me of Mononoke hime OST, but the composer doesn’t compose both. What a pity, because both of them created some kind of pleasent feeling.
